CIP Life : Eggs make it stronger

CIP Life : Eggs make it stronger

CIP Life : Introduction

Teacher Chao and I have been friends for more a decade now – we do share the same interest and the thing that we like the most is history. We both love history since we were in high-school. So, when we became teachers at CIP (Clark Institute of the Philippines) we decided to tour our students at Intramuros in Manila. Hey Ian why the title is about eggs? – I will tell you later so hold on tight and enjoy the ride.

Departure from CIP

We woke up around 7AM and we came to CIP to meet the students. I commend Teacher Chao for making sure that the van is ready and can fit a lot of people. We left CIP around 09AM. During the time we are preparing Teacher Marco and I had a class inside the van about what to expect. We also taught them some English expression for travelling.  – Yes , we teach even though we travel, that is what we do. One of our student is a Japanese English teacher who assisted us in translating some words.

CIP Students and the Hot Pandesal

We had our first stop in a gasoline station near Bulacan area – Sorry guys not really know the places down south. Anyways, on that area they experience having a freshly baked pandesal (Not related to the title about eggs). It seems that our students like it… well who doesnt like freshly baked pandesal in the first place.  After that, the class resume inside the van. (Yes, we are serious in teaching our students.)

CIP Students and San Agustin Church

Our first stop is on San Agustin church also known as the wedding church of the Philippines. The church is around 500 years old now. Everyday, people get married in this church. It is rich in historical value and they said that when you get married here, your relationship will last. We are lucky that we arrived exactly before the wedding started. They said that money cannot buy happiness but money can give you a nice wedding.

First taste of Jollibee

Teacher Chao and I were surprised that most our students here in CIP never tried Jollibee so we decided to go to the nearest Jollibee before we go back to the school. Unfortunately, they havent seen my Jollibee song.. it seems they are lucky not knowing that I can sing the Jollibee Song

Oh wait Yeah about the Eggs make it stronger…. back in the old days, egg shells were used to mixed with concrete to make it any structure stronger.  It is claimed that most structure made by the Spanish such as the Intramuros walls and San Agustin church contains eggs on it. As in life, we are like eggs, fragile and some are broken but being mixed with concrete (family and friends, fellow teachers and students ) we become stronger and last forever.
