- What do you do when a thing is broken and cannot be fixed?
1. Can you fix things?
- Well, I can perform basic troubleshooting for my gadgets, like my phone or sometimes my computer. However, if the issue is beyond my ability to fix, I usually seek assistance or call someone for help.
- Yes, as a computer science major, I’ve learned how to troubleshoot and repair computers, so I’m quite tech-savvy and can fix most PC-related problems.
2. Did anybody teach you to fix things when you were a child?
- Yes, my parents did teach me a lot of things. However, I never really applied that knowledge in my life. I also realized that I’m not very effective at it, so I often rely on others.
- My dad had some handyman skills, but I mostly learned by studying with my teacher and watching tutorials on YouKu about how to repair various items.
3. Do you think it is necessary for people to learn to fix things?
- Initially, I didn’t think so, but after living on my own, I’ve come to appreciate the value of learning to fix things. It can provide a sense of accomplishment and save a significant amount of money.
- Yes, it’s a practical skill that can save money and be less expensive in the long run.
4. What do you do when a thing is broken and cannot be fixed?
- To be honest, even though I’d like to fix it, I often face limitations, so I turn to my parents or call someone for help. If that doesn’t work, then I opt to buy a replacement.
- After trying all troubleshooting steps and seeking professional assistance, if the item cannot be fixed, I usually salvage any usable parts and then purchase a replacement. These days, I’m quite busy, so I don’t have the time to invest further in repair efforts.
