IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Breakfast

  • Would you like to change your morning routine?
  • Are there any differences between the mornings of your childhood and now?
  • Do you think breakfast is important?
  • What do you usually eat for breakfast?

Would you like to change your morning routine?

Hmm, maybe a little. I’d like to wake up earlier and have more time to exercise or do something relaxing like journaling or reading. Right now, my mornings can feel a bit rushed, especially on busy days. Oh, and I’d love to spend less time checking my phone first thing—it’s such a habit! Making small changes like preparing things the night before could make mornings feel more peaceful and productive.

Are there any differences between the mornings of your childhood and now?

Oh, definitely! As a child, mornings were more carefree. I just had to wake up, eat breakfast, and get ready for school without worrying about much else. Now, mornings involve more responsibility, like planning my day or checking emails. Oh, and back then, I never cared about things like morning workouts or coffee—it was all about cereal and cartoons! It’s funny how mornings evolve as you grow older.

Do you think breakfast is important?

Oh, absolutely! Breakfast gives you the energy to start your day and helps you focus, especially if you’ve got a lot to do. I’ve noticed that skipping breakfast can make me feel tired or even cranky later. Oh, and it’s also a good time to enjoy some healthy food. I think having even a small breakfast, like a piece of fruit or a smoothie, can make a big difference.

What do you usually eat for breakfast?

Oh, it depends! On busy mornings, I might just have some toast or a quick bowl of cereal. If I have more time, I’ll make eggs with veggies or oatmeal with fruits—it’s a great way to stay full longer. Oh, and coffee is always part of the routine! Sometimes I switch it up with smoothies or yogurt, especially when I want something lighter. It really depends on my mood and schedule.
